Different research approaches have been discussed related to the materials of boiler and its components, regarding various hazards possible in the boilers and suitable measures have been proposed to avoid them. How to maintain the cleanliness of the internal boiler?

Experience has indicated that, to maintain the cleanliness of the internal boiler surfaces, careful attention must be given to protection of the feed and condensate systems from oxygen attack during storage. Boiler plant that is idle, even for short periods (e.g. weekends), is susceptible to attack.

When should a boiler be drained?
